I went to college with Alyssa’s sister Shawna. I was studying studio art and she art education. Shawna is an amazing photographer and all around creative person so I knew that this wedding was also going to be full of creatives and their creations. It exceeded any expectations I had.
The ladies prepped for the day in Alyssa’s apartment and the men at Marc’s parent’s home; where the ceremony and reception would be taking place. Marc and his family cleared out two sections of the woods behind their home to make a space for the intimate ceremony and the dinner that followed, and that was just the beginning. Wood burned branch slices as place cards, a handmade neck and shoulder piece for the bride, bouquets, boutonnieres, place settings…it was such a feast for the eyes. I’m also really in love with the chairs that they used for the ceremony and dinner.
We brought along the Rolleiflex, so the square photographs you see were taken with that. I can’t even write any more because my words won’t due their wedding justice. Take a look and walk through their day. The light for their ceremony may be the most incredible I’ve ever seen.
