I met Kati & Matt in our studio on a cold winters day to talk about their warm summer wedding. Kati grew up on the lake and they both love everything in and around water so a wedding on the lake made every bit of sense. When we met they were living and working in New York City, with frequent trips upstate for winter and summer fun. Since their wedding would feature their love of the lake, it was only fitting that their engagement session reflect their love of the city. For their engagement session we spent a few hours on the roof of a dear friend’s apartment, then on The High Line, and wrapped it up in Tribeca (with a Robert De Niro siting- because it turns out Kati is magic when it comes to seeing celebrities).
Kati & Matt’s wedding day was full of nautical details, boat rides, lake views, friends, family, and incredible music and food.
Kati and her ladies got ready at her grandfather’s camp while the guys and Matt got ready at their cabin, and then they all took boats to the ceremony and reception location.
They were married standing on the edge of the shoreline with the sun reflecting off the water.
During cocktail hour we stole them away for a boat ride in the family’s Hacker-Craft for some of our favorite photos.
First dances as the sun began to make it’s way down in the sky.
